A few days ago, The University Kid announced that he’s kicking up his marketing efforts by launching the most massive blog contest ever! Although this sixteen year old University student is blogging just about everyday and pulling in about $2,000 per month online (according to his “About Me” page), he’s got big dreams and much higher aspirations for his online income. The University Kid’s blog discusses various Internet marketing topics and how he makes money online using methods like affiliate marketing and Google Adsense. His blog also offers some nice Wordpress themes you can download for free. You can earn points towards winning this contest by commenting on the contest page, subscribing to his RSS feed, blogging about the contest, and becoming one of his “Top Commentators.”

WOW! That’s a whole lotta stuff, right? I’m throwing in my hat for this contest because I’m hoping to win the advertising. I’d love to increase the exposure and readership for this blog, but instead I would use the advertising to promote my My Power Mall Giving Center. Because of the crazy hours I’ve been working I haven’t been able to promote it as much as I’d like and it would help me reach the goals I set in January. If you remember, I’m trying to 1) sponsor a Hope Child through World Vision ($35/month) and to 2) become a monthly donor to World Wildlife Fund ($15/month). For only $50 per month, I’ll be helping a child whose life has been devastated by HIV/AIDS and I’ll be helping to conserve our environment and save endangered species! I’ve had a few sign ups since so far, but not as many as I thought I’d get considering there is no cost to join MPM and all you have to do is shop online through your mall for stuff you want anyway. Winning the advertising from TUK’s Ultimate Blog Contest would provide my Giving Center with the added exposure I need.
