Craziest Internet Marketing Contest Ever

Gyutae Park of  “Winning the Web” has launched the Craziest Internet Marketing Contest You’ve Ever Seen! Even though that title was given by Gyutae himself, it’s actually very appropriate and I’ll tell you why…

First, the prize pool has grown to $12,201! Seriously… and it’s not just prizes like the iPod Touch from Shoemoney, a 6 month pro membership to SEOmoz, or exclusive blog themes from Unique Blog designs (whose portfolio’s includes well-known bloggers like John Chow and Zac Johnson). The prize pool also includes straight CASH from very well-known networks like PepperJam. It’s a massive list of REAL money and AWESOME prizes like you’ve probably never seen from a blog contest before.

Second, the big names he’s managed to get to donate to this contest amaze me. This contest has completely convinced me that Gyutae is a master marketer because his blog is only six months old! I’m still scratching my head wondering how he’s managed to come on the scene and gain such a big following in such a short period of time. He’s obviously gotten noticed by the big names too since they seem to be supportive of his blog and this contest. I’m sure he used his powers of persuasion and detailed his master plan to garner some fabulous exposure for everyone involved.

And finally, and this is something I’m truly admiring, he has taken blog contests to the next level in a genius sort of way. Most blog contests are designed to gain RSS subscribers and traffic, which hopefully translates to more readers and an overall following. Contests seem very effective towards that end since they’re fun and everyone loves winning free stuff. Most blog contest holders ask that you leave a comment and subscribe to their RSS feed to enter. While Gyutae also includes these basic requirements, he has managed to turn this opportunity into much more for his blog and those who’ve donated prizes. What he did was add “clues” as a way for those who enter to gain more points towards winning the cash and prizes. While not necessarily genius in and of itself, the clues themselves involve taking actions such as stumbling the contest post, blogrolling him, following him on Twitter, and even signing up for some of the sites that donated prizs like PepperJam. He’s creating a massive buzz for his blog, increasing subscribers, generating traffic, building links, and getting referrals with this contest by adding these “clues”. Pure Genius!

If you haven’t gotten in on the action yet, you’ve got about a week left to enter. The drawing for the winners happens on Monday, March 31. Good luck to everyone!

The University Kid’s Ultimate Blog Contest

A few days ago, The University Kid announced that he’s kicking up his marketing efforts by launching the most massive blog contest ever! Although this sixteen year old University student is blogging just about everyday and pulling in about $2,000 per month online (according to his “About Me” page), he’s got big dreams and much higher aspirations for his online income. The University Kid’s blog discusses various Internet marketing topics and how he makes money online using methods like affiliate marketing and Google Adsense. His blog also offers some nice Wordpress themes you can download for free. You can earn points towards winning this contest by commenting on the contest page, subscribing to his RSS feed, blogging about the contest, and becoming one of his “Top Commentators.”

Here’s the insane list of prizes: (continue your reading )

John Cow called it… I’m a winner!

On January 5th, John Cow posted about being nominated for having the “Best Blog Name” of 2007 in the Performancing Blog Awards. In an effort to get more votes, he created a random draw contest for all the readers who voted for him.

John Cow was crowned the winner (of course, he milked the Internet all last year!) and I won the choice of a Wordpress Hoodie or T-shirt! So, I picked the hoodie after I did a lil happy dance. I can’t wait to rock my hoodie!

Congratulations” to John Cow for taking the win and to the other winners of the random draw contest:

New Years Resolutions

I’m sitting here at 9:00pm on New Years Eve thinking about resolutions (no, I’m not partying). I’m all for setting goals, but for me “resolutions” always end up having to do with working out more *argh*. Anyway, I was playing around at the Widgetbox.com website and I found this widget and had to share it. It gave me a good laugh! Happy New Year!!

MySpace

It’s very possible that I am one of the last people in the free world to create a MySpace page, but I finally did it. The amount of people that use MySpace is incredible, so the power of that network was something I could not ignore any longer. So, I hope you will hop over to the Inspired Epiphany MySpace Page and add me to your friends list so we can get to know each other better. :)
