Craziest Internet Marketing Contest Ever

Gyutae Park of  “Winning the Web” has launched the Craziest Internet Marketing Contest You’ve Ever Seen! Even though that title was given by Gyutae himself, it’s actually very appropriate and I’ll tell you why…

First, the prize pool has grown to $12,201! Seriously… and it’s not just prizes like the iPod Touch from Shoemoney, a 6 month pro membership to SEOmoz, or exclusive blog themes from Unique Blog designs (whose portfolio’s includes well-known bloggers like John Chow and Zac Johnson). The prize pool also includes straight CASH from very well-known networks like PepperJam. It’s a massive list of REAL money and AWESOME prizes like you’ve probably never seen from a blog contest before.

Boost Site Rank, Traffic, and Income? TNX!

Most website owners know how important it is to build links back to their website. Not only do the links help increase website traffic, but they also increase their sites “link popularity” rating which translates to better search engine rankings. Since search engines (especially Google) are generally viewed as the holy grail of traffic, building links is usually a priority for website owners. Link building almost always requires ongoing effort and it can often be time consuming and even difficult. As a result, link brokers, linking services, and text link marketplaces became available. This review will focus on TNX (pronounced “thanks” as in text message speak), how their system works, and how it can benefit you.

What’s TNX all about?

TNX is a link service that brings webmasters and advertisers together for their mutual benefit. The TNX advertising service helps website owners gain targeted traffic and boost their search engine rankings. Their webmaster publishing service provides a lucrative income opportunity for website owners. In addition, TNX strives to reduce the dependence on search engines and to improve the quality of the search results for TNX member websites. The TNX system is based on points and the cost of buying links is very reasonable. Currently, 1,000 points is about $1.50. This can get you one link on a PR 5 website or five links on PR 3 websites. Sound good? Well, there’s more!

Must Have Blog Comments Wordpress Plugins

Since I got a pretty good response from my recent post on Maximizing Your Blog Commenting Potential, I thought I’d continue with the blog comments theme today. In my opinion, if you’re using blog comments as a way to build backlinks and traffic to your blog, you should also share the Link Luv on your own blog and make it as comment friendly as possible. I’ve tried my best to make my blog a place that invites comments and to make it worth your while to comment here. So, as a confessed Wordpress theme and plugin junky, I thought I’d share my list of favorite blog commenting plugins with you.

1. Do Follow Plugin – This is probably one of the most important plugins. It removes the dreaded “no follow” attribute from your comments. This is important if you’re using blog comments because although you may get some traffic from a “no follow” blog comment, it won’t help you with your link building efforts because the search engines won’t follow that link back to your blog (so, it basically won’t count for SEO purposes).

2. Comment Luv Plugin – I love this plugin! And the great thing is I’m seeing it on more blogs, so I really get to make the most out of my blog comments. This plugin automatically detects and adds the commentors last blog post title and link to the end of their comment! It’s like a free blog advertising bonus for everyone who comments on your blog.

Progress & Income Report – February 2008

I’m making this post a little later than I intended, so my apologies for that up front. Not too much has changed since January… my work schedule is still kicking my butt and I still haven’t reached my goal of posting three times per week here. *sigh* It’s a lot more difficult than I thought it would be, but I’m not giving up on that goal just yet.

I was recently informed by Margaret of EyeSpi20.com (one of my Entrecard advertisers) that the blog comments function was malfunctioning! (If you’re reading this, Margaret, thank you again!) Come to find out I had left out a closing HTML tag on a modification I made to my newsletter sign up form. This was making it impossible to comment here and was resulting in a Get Response newsletter sign up error! Undoubtedly, more than just Margaret encountered this unintentional error so please accept my sincere apologies for that whole mess. It’s been fixed and things are functioning properly now.
